I was pleased to hear that the Screen Actors Guild will consider joining the Film and Television Action Committee, the Teamsters and the Laborers Union in filing a petition with the International Trade Commission later this year.

          The loss of jobs in the film and television production industry because of Canadian subsidies must be stopped. This petition will help to end this unfair practice.

          I hope that with the filing of this petition, the International Trade Commission will immediately begin its examination of the Canadian subsidies,and that the U.S. Trade Representative will ultimately be empowered to negotiate with Canada to halt this illegal practice.
